With the summer only a few weeks away, the colorful eyeshadow looks are slowly defrosting with the rising temperatures. There have been a number of colorful eyeshadow palettes on the market but nothing has been more talked about/compared than the Morphe x James Charles eyeshadow palette and the BH Cosmetics Take Me Back to Brazil eyeshadow palette. Can't decide on which one to buy, allow me to break it down for you in this week's version of #CoporDrop. After careful reviewing, I have narrowed down my options of which palette you should cop and which you should drop.
Cop: BH Cosmetics Take Me Back to Brazil

The Take Me Back to Brazil Palette is just what you need if you want to get into color. This 35 pan palette gives you the full color spectrum whether you are just getting into color or you're a color expert like me. These are pressed pigment shadows that that pack on the pigment leaving no color dull or patchy. Take Me Back to Brazil is friendly for all skin tones from the alabaster shawties to my melanin queens everyone can get busy with this palette. And for 16.99 (and $16 at ulta.com) this palette is hard to keep on the shelves. While the James Charles Palette requires an eyeshadow base, you can use any concealer that you already own to get the shadows to pop. For this reason, the Take Me Back to Brazil palette is my go to cop for the summer.
Drop: Morphe x James Charles Unleash Your Inner Artist Palette

I really thought I would love this palette but it feel flat for a number of reasons. First, Morphe discontinued the fan favorite 35B eyeshadow palette to make room for this collaboration. After this palette came out, everyone including myself are wishing they would bring it back. The palette is super clunky and hard to travel with. While the shadows are pretty, the pigmentation lacks what is in the pan. And don't try to use this palette without an eyeshadow base, the color will not blend and you will be left with a patchy mess. I will give credit where credit is due, I love the fact that it has a number of neutrals and transition shades inside of the palette. But for $39 dollars, I was expecting it to match up with the quality of ABH shadows however it left the makeup community and myself very sister saddened.
In order to save a couple dollars and still have a bomb colorful makeup look, I would rather go with the Take Me Back to Brazil Palette. What makeup product do you want me to review next? Comment below!
